WHAT WE DO AND WHAT WE DO NOT DO
LODGE EDITION

PURPOSE

This document exists to clearly define the scope of lodge activity.
It prevents misunderstanding, misrepresentation, and misuse of the lodge framework.

Clarity protects participants, lodges, and the organizations that support them.

--------------------------------------------------

WHAT LODGES DO

Lodges exist to support constructive, lawful, and cooperative activity.

Lodges may:
- discuss local needs and concerns
- organize mutual aid efforts
- coordinate volunteer activity
- share skills and resources
- support charitable initiatives
- engage in civic discussion within permitted boundaries
- serve as a coordination point for approved programs
- provide a structured space for problem-solving

Activities must remain compatible with the legal framework under which the lodge operates.

--------------------------------------------------

WHAT LODGES DO NOT DO

Lodges do not:
- operate as political parties
- endorse candidates under charitable frameworks
- function as labor unions
- conduct law enforcement activity
- administer punishment
- replace courts or legal systems
- engage in harassment or intimidation
- promote hate or exclusion
- conduct paramilitary or militant activity
- solicit funds outside approved channels

The lodge framework does not grant authority beyond participation and affiliation.

--------------------------------------------------

NO UNAUTHORIZED REPRESENTATION

Lodges may not:
- represent themselves as speaking for the foundation or network
- claim official authority beyond their scope
- bind the organization to agreements
- imply endorsement of external causes

Public statements must clearly identify the lodge as a local or independent participant group.

--------------------------------------------------

NO UNSOLICITED FUNDING COORDINATION

Lodges do not coordinate projects based on unsolicited funding requests.

Requests for funding:
- must follow documented processes
- may be declined without explanation
- do not obligate response or partnership

This protects lodges from exploitation and distraction.

--------------------------------------------------

BOUNDARIES PROTECT PARTICIPATION

Boundaries exist to keep lodges functional and inclusive.

When activities drift beyond scope:
- redirection is expected
- mediation may be used
- separation may occur if compatibility is lost

Affiliation is conditional on continued alignment with these boundaries.

--------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY

Lodges exist to do practical good within clear limits.

They succeed by:
- staying focused
- respecting boundaries
- cooperating without coercion
- and disengaging cleanly when alignment is lost
