SUNSETTING, LEAVING, AND DISSOLUTION

PURPOSE

This document defines how individuals and lodges may exit, pause, or dissolve participation.
Its purpose is to ensure clean transitions without conflict, obligation, or stigma.

--------------------------------------------------

INDIVIDUAL LEAVING

Individuals may leave a lodge at any time.

Leaving:
- does not require explanation
- does not imply fault
- does not restrict future participation elsewhere

No notice period is required.

--------------------------------------------------

TEMPORARY PAUSE

Lodges may pause activity temporarily.

A pause may occur due to:
- low participation
- seasonal constraints
- project completion
- reassessment of purpose

Pausing does not dissolve the lodge.

--------------------------------------------------

VOLUNTARY DISSOLUTION

Lodges may dissolve voluntarily.

Dissolution:
- ends regular meetings
- releases participants from affiliation
- closes active projects

No approval is required to dissolve.

--------------------------------------------------

HANDLING OF RECORDS

Upon dissolution:
- local records may be retained or destroyed at lodge discretion
- no records are required to be submitted
- sensitive information should be handled responsibly

No centralized archive is required.

--------------------------------------------------

FUNDS AND RESOURCES

If funds or resources exist at dissolution:
- they must be handled according to their original purpose
- charitable funds must be returned or redirected lawfully
- civic resources must be resolved locally

Funds may not be retained for personal use.

--------------------------------------------------

RE-FORMATION

Former participants may re-form a lodge at any time.

Re-formation:
- does not inherit prior designation automatically
- requires alignment with current documents
- begins as a new structure

--------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY

Exits should be simple.

Clean endings preserve trust and future cooperation.
