ZPE Carrito – Houston
ZPE Carrito – Houston Initiative
Building a Distributed Vehicle Manufacturing Network in Houston, Texas
ZPE Carrito is an independent vehicle platform initiative built using the Carrito modular vehicle framework hosted by Charity Helpers Foundation.
The Houston initiative focuses on coordinating independent fabrication shops, mechanics, electrical specialists, and vehicle builders to collaboratively produce the CSG-Go vehicle platform.
Instead of requiring a single centralized factory, the Carrito system allows multiple independent shops to contribute to different parts of a vehicle build. This distributed approach allows small and mid-sized shops to participate in vehicle production while remaining independent businesses.
Houston offers an ideal environment for early coordination due to its strong industrial base, large number of fabrication and automotive shops, and access to transportation infrastructure.
The goal of this initiative is to explore the feasibility of launching coordinated CSG-Go vehicle production using local talent and distributed shop collaboration.
What Is the CSG-Go Platform?
CSG-Go is a modular micro-vehicle concept developed under the ZPE Carrito project.
The platform is designed around several key ideas:
• modular vehicle architecture
• distributed manufacturing
• independent shop participation
• simplified vehicle serviceability
• adaptable vehicle configurations
The initial configuration utilizes proven automotive geometry from the Chevy Cobalt / Ecotec platform while allowing the vehicle structure to remain compatible with future engine and drivetrain developments within the Carrito ecosystem.
The platform is intended to be flexible enough to support multiple use cases such as:
• compact commuter vehicles
• light utility transport
• small delivery vehicles
• experimental modular vehicle designs
Why Houston?
Houston is one of the strongest cities in the United States for industrial collaboration.
Several factors make Houston a strong candidate for early Carrito vehicle coordination:
• a large population of independent fabrication and machine shops
• a strong automotive repair and customization culture
• access to industrial suppliers and logistics infrastructure
• a large regional market for experimental vehicle platforms
The Houston initiative aims to determine whether a distributed network of shops can coordinate effectively to produce early CSG-Go vehicles.
Builder Participation Opportunities
Local Houston shops may be able to participate in different areas of vehicle development depending on their capabilities.
Examples of possible participation areas include:
• frame and chassis fabrication
• welding and structural work
• drivetrain installation
• electrical system integration
• interior components and panel fabrication
• vehicle finishing and assembly
Participation does not require shops to abandon their existing business models. Shops may contribute only in areas that align with their current capabilities.
The distributed coordination model is designed to allow shops to remain independent while still contributing to a larger vehicle platform project.

Important Note
This page is intended to help coordinate early interest in the Houston area.
Participation does not require relocation, and many roles may be performed by independent shops working within their existing businesses.
The purpose of this initiative is to explore whether distributed manufacturing models can enable collaborative vehicle development in local communities.
